A Note from Alumni Director Clayton Platt '73
dated 2 March 2007

I am saddened to report that your classmate Rick Snape passed away yesterday after a long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). We remember Rick's days at Episcopal as filled with achievement both in the classroom and on the playing fields. He was your Valedictorian, editor-in-chief of the Scholium, a member of Junto, the Camera Club, and played varsity football and baseball. He was a true leader and will certainly be missed.

I have pasted below information about his services that was forwarded to me by Bill Suplee from Rick's step dad, Paul Macht.

In the meantime, please keep the Snape family in your prayers. As you approach your 35th Reunion at the end of April, think about how precious our friendships are and how fleeting life is. This is such a startling reminder.

A Memorial Service will be held, Wednesday, March 7th at 11am at the Glen Ridge Country Club in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. Directions from the Philadelphia area: PA Turnpike east to the New Jersey Turnpike, north to exit 11 to Garden State Parkway, north to exit 151 Watchung Ave. At exit turn left at the light on to Watchung Ave. Continue thru 4 lights and turn left on Ridgewood Ave. Continue a short distance to Glen Ridge C.C. on the left. It was approximately 1 year and 2 months since Rick was diagnosed with ALS. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Paul

My best to all my friends in the great class of 1972. My heart goes out to all.

Peace.
